I LOVE WINE!

Yep! That pretty much sums it up. I LOVE WINE! I love how tasting wine hits every one of my senses. Wine tasting is a complete experience and it's just plain fun. ShaSha's Wine Club is all about sharing wine adventures, taking the snootiness out of wine, helping people discover a variety of wines that they can enjoy with and without food and sharing the fun.
Do you have a momentous occasion coming up and you want to do something different? I could take you on a wine weekend getaway, a day of local wine touring or help host a wine pairing party.
Do you want to make a special dinner? Check out my recipes with suggested wine pairings or email me and I'd be happy to help you plan your menu or even help you pull your dinner together.
Do you just want to have fun? Come and join me and other ShaSha's Wine Club members at wine events throughout New England. Like ShaSha's Wine Club on Facebook and be in the know about all upcoming events.
Just come play with me! I love to experiment with food and wine. I'm not a sommelier. I'm not even a wine expert. I have experienced a lot of wine, done a LOT of wine tasting, go to wine dinners and on wine-centric vacations. I am familiar with different styles of wines and am pretty darn good at helping people identify the kinds of wines they will like (if I do say so myself). I love learning something new about wine every day and hope you will want to experience ShaSha's Wine Club adventures with me!

Happy People

Recently I was fortunate enough to participate in a girl’s wine weekend wine trip to the Finger Lakes, in New York. There were seven of us including Sharon. Sharon planned all of the meals, did the shopping and prepared the food. We spent the long weekend touring and tasting various wines of that region. The food that Sharon chose went great with the various wines that we purchased and brought back to have with the meals. Sharon’s knowledge of the Finger Lakes area and what wineries to go to was amazing. We were able to find wines that fit the tastes of all of us.

I am also very pleased to participate in ShaSha’s Wine Club. Throughout the fall and winter months Sharon has wine tasting parties to showcase the wines of the month. She does a great job preparing food pairings that almost always go well with the wines. They are wonderful evenings filled with wine, food, and great conversation.

I have been attending wine events hosted by Sharon Dyson-Demers, founder of Sha Sha’s wine club, for a number of years and I have thoroughly enjoyed every single event! Sharon and her husband Tommy are true lovers of wine.  They aren’t, however, wine snobs.  They love to share their knowledge of wine, not only by speaking about various wines but sharing with others the enjoyment of wine especially as it relates to the paring food and wine.

They welcome everyone’s feedback on all aspect of the wine… the look, the smell, what specific elements of flavor that is picked up when paired with certain foods… what our preferences are and why.  No one ever feels inferior due to lack of wine expertise, there is no wrong answer and all are encouraged to join in the discussion. It’s all about fun, enjoying wine and expanding that enjoyment when sharing the experience with others.

It wasn’t until I started attending the wine pairing events that I realized how much certain foods truly bring out the flavor of the wine and how well some foods pair with specific wines.  It’s so interesting to taste the difference when simply tasting the wine on its own and then tasting it again with a particular food. Some of my favorite pairings at wine events by Sha Sha’s wine club were poached shrimp with lemon thyme aioli paired with a French Muscadet, Malbec red wine with meatballs in marinara and also again with tenderloin of beef crostini with horseradish sauce and chicken piccata with a crisp, chilled Pinot Grigio.  Such different wines in color, volume and temperature but I enjoyed all of them!

Sharon always creates wine / food pairings that are original, with a variety of types of wine and best of all, every dish is made from scratch and made with love!  The wine is great but the food is amazing. I encourage anyone with even the tiniest hint of interest in wine to attend a Sha Sha’s Wine Club event.  It’s well worth it.
